How to Frame Posters And Save Money

Do you have posters laying around, that you are afraid to put up, in fear of damaging the poster? Do you have a creative or artistic personality? If so, the solution is at your finger tips. There are many ways for you to create amazing DIY poster frames that will really create an impact on the viewer. The only thing better then all that, is that it won't cost you an arm and a leg. All it takes is a little time and creativity and you will be well on your way.

Did you know that with four, rustic looking pieces of scrap wood, and a little bit of twine, you already have over fifty percent of the supplies to make a poster frame. Just make sure the pieces of wood are the correct length for the particular piece you are wanting to frame. Now, you can either go right ahead and use your twine to tie the pieces together to start the framework of the project, or you can go that extra mile, and take a carving tool(knife, file, ect.) and create grooves in the pieces of wood, in order to make the pieces sit flush together.

Once you are happy with your framework, this is where a little cost might come into play. You can go to the craft store and purchase a piece of board to act as your backing. However, a piece of cardboard works just as well if you find yourself in a pinch. Match the size of the back piece to the framework you made previously. You will probably want to add three small stand offs, to push the back slight off the frame. You don't want to do too far, or else it just won't look quite right. Add these pieces to the two sides, as well as the bottom.

Now, attach the back piece using whatever adhesive method you find works best for you. Short nails will be a little more sturdy, you just need to make sure that you are careful not to splinter the wood. Now that the back is attached, with the opening you left at the top, you will be able to slide your poster inside the frame, without putting holes, or other unsightly damages to the poster you are framing. You see, now your poster has a brand new frame, that your friends will be talking about, and it barely cost you anything. Use your own creativity, and you possibilities will be endless your new diy poster frame.
